About this stay
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Raleigh Durham Airport at RTP by IHG is built around one thing done well: airport convenience, with a free shuttle service covering the 7 km to Raleigh-Durham International Airport and express check-in and check-out for travelers on a tight schedule. Rooms include a work desk, TV and complimentary toiletries alongside free WiFi, and the buffet breakfast draws consistent praise from guests for its quality and variety, a step above the typical budget-tier spread. A 24-hour front desk, minimarket, business area and child-friendly buffet round out the practical amenities. Lenova Center sits 17 km away, with Duke University 18 km and American Tobacco Campus 15 km, all a genuine drive rather than a walk from this airport-corridor base. Pets are welcome, and free parking is included.

- Buffet breakfast

Our take
This suits travelers whose trip genuinely centers on RDU airport access rather than Duke or downtown Durham. The free shuttle and express check-in save real time on an early or late flight. Guests planning most of their trip around Duke University should expect a meaningful drive from this location instead.
- Use express check-in if your flight schedule is tight, it is built specifically for quick turnarounds.
- Eat at the buffet breakfast even on a rushed morning, guests consistently rate it above typical budget-tier options.
- Confirm the shuttle schedule the night before an early flight, timing matters more here than at hotels further from the airport.

Rooms are air-conditioned with free WiFi, parking is free and pets are accepted. I see no pool listed, so it works best for a short stay.
