Winston-Salem, Winston-Salem
About this stay
On Creekshire Way close to Hanes Mall, Hilton Garden Inn keeps things straightforward for a business traveler or a family driving in for a shopping trip: free self-parking sits by the door, and the fitness centre covers a workout without a drive elsewhere. Rooms include a work desk, coffee maker and cable TV, practical rather than flashy, and the pet-friendly policy extends to dogs of any confirmed size, though the exact weight limit isn't published online. The restaurant on site serves dinner and cocktails, useful for a business dinner without leaving the building after a long day (breakfast runs continental and American, included separately from the room rate). Anyone weighing this stay against the rest of the winston salem lineup should factor in business travelers as the clearest use case here.

Our take
This suits business travelers and families who want a straightforward, moderately priced stay near Hanes Mall with free parking and a working desk in the room. Travelers chasing a boutique or historic experience should look downtown instead, since this property leans functional over characterful, a fair trade for the lower nightly rate. The free self-parking near the entrance sums up the appeal well.
- Call ahead to confirm the exact pet weight limit, since it isn't published on the booking page
- Book a desk-equipped room specifically if you need to work during the stay
- Use the on-site restaurant for a business dinner rather than driving out after a long day
Why we love it
- Free self-parking near the entrance
- Work desk and coffee maker in every room
- On-site restaurant for dinner
- Pet-friendly with fitness centre access
Why guests love itThe work desk in the room turned out to be genuinely useful for catching up on email before a Hanes Mall shopping trip with the family. Free parking removed one more cost from the total bill, and the on-site restaurant covered a quick dinner without needing to drive anywhere that evening. Nothing about the room stood out as memorable, but everything functioned exactly as expected for the price.
