Our take
I would choose Star Motel for two concrete reasons: free private parking in a city where parking is hard, and family rooms for travellers who need space more than polish. Ghirardelli Square, Pier 39 and Alcatraz are listed nearby, and the 24-hour front desk, room service and daily housekeeping add comfort. It is a two-star motel with an 8.8 rating, so expect a plain but well-run base.
