Our take
The Westin Houston Downtown pairs a 9.4 rating with a very practical position, steps from Minute Maid Park and the George R. Brown Convention Center. On site there is a spa and wellness center, a fitness center and a bar, plus a free shuttle service. My advice: choose it when your Houston plans center on downtown events, and look elsewhere if a pool is a must for the family.
- Take advantage of the free shuttle service to explore nearby attractions without the hassle of driving.
- Book a room with a seating area if you appreciate extra space to relax after a day out.
- Consider dining at the on-site Ballpark Cafe for continental cuisine, especially if you're in a hurry.
Why we love it
- Steps away from Minute Maid Park
- Convenient downtown location
- Relaxing spa and wellness center
- Complimentary shuttle service
Why guests love itThe Westin Houston Downtown scores 9.4 out of 10 from 216 guests, and its address is the main reason families book it: Minute Maid Park and the George R. Brown Convention Center are just steps away, so a ball game or a convention needs no parking plan. Rooms are air-conditioned with flat-screen TVs and free WiFi, and the hotel runs a free shuttle. There is no pool in the listing, so I would book it for an event weekend rather than a swim break.
